The Dark Blues are a unique combination of youth, experience, enthusiasm and professionalism. Long known as Britain’s most popular party musicians – a title originally coined by Harpers & Queen - their career highlights include many of the Royal Family’s private parties at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
Phil Collins – who played alongside the band at HRH Prince Charles’ birthday – subsequently asked them to play for his wedding in 1997, and for his wife’s party in Geneva on Millennium Night.
| Following their successful Italian tour in September 2005, when the band stayed in Nigel's Tuscan home and played 3 concerts in Greve in Chianti as part of the annual Festa del Vino, The Dark Blues have been booked to spend a week in Bermuda in April 2006 as House Band for the first international 20-20 Classic Cricket Festival. See www.worldcricketclassic.bm for details.

The subject of a major Guardian Weekend magazine article the Dark Blues were titled on the front cover as 'Britain's most successful pop group'.
"Britain's longest serving, hardest working, most frequently booked party band - and they never fail to fill the dance floor" The complete article.
Nigel Tully, who formed the band while a student at Oxford University in the 60’s, has made over 5,000 appearances in nearly 40 years as the leader of the UK’s foremost dance and party band, and his extraordinary instinct for the music that any audience wants to hear is a key ingredient in the recipe that ensures that a Dark Blues dance floor is always packed.
Nigel leads an outstanding blend of musical talents: Annabel's Williams amazing voice, having spent 5 years as lead singer with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Matt's cool style and brilliant guitar playing, the vast experience and breadth of repertoire of sax player Nick Newall and drummer Stuie Ellerton, and the consummate musicianship of Martin Roke, keyboard player and Musical Director of The Dark Blues since 1981. The entire band are lead vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, enabling them to cover almost any hit of the last 40 years with uncanny accuracy.
