For someone who has been a professional musician for over 40 years, Nigel Tully has
had a remarkable business career. After reading Physics at Oxford (with the same Open Scholarship as
Stephen Hawking a few years earlier) Nigel spent over 30 years with IBM as a top Sales Director. He is now a
sought-after mentor for ambitious executives, and a coach for big-ticket sales teams at BT.
His sympathetically- restored listed farmhouse "Puddephat's" often features in the press, as does his 40-acre
Tuscan estate "Ripertoli". Added to this, his year as Master of the Worshipful Company of Musicians brought
him unique friendships in the world of classical music and jazz, as well as an appearance on Radio 3's "Private Passions"
programme with Michael Berkeley. The following press articles offer a fascinating insight into Nigel's life and interests
and help explain his unique sensitivity as bandleader of The Dark Blues.
