What a wonderful time everyone had on Saturday 30th May at our 18th Annual Picnic at The Herts Showground. We had just over
750 happy revellers attending and from the pictures you can tell that everyone was enjoying themselves whether they were in their
teens or in their seventies - they were all on the dance floor, and The Dark Blues were in great form once again.
We raised just over £6,000 from the raffle for Grove House Hospice and first time picnicker Mark Lister, their CEO, thought it was a
spectacular event and had this to say "Thank you so much for all your hard work to create such a fun and highly successful picnic on
Saturday. The funds you raised for Grove House could cover the costs of a Day Hospice nurse for four months - that’s a lot of care for
local people!"
We were well supported by local people and businesses who kindly donated raffle prizes worth at least £100 each - without their help
the event wouldn’t be the success it has become. Next year the Picnic takes place in June, so make sure you put the date in your
diary - Saturday 5th June 2010 - it’s certain to be another great night
